ASB Secretary Candidates 2025-2026
Eunho Namkoong
Hey Cupertino!! My name is Eunho Namkoong and I am running to be your ASB Secretary for the 2025-2026 school year. Some of you may know me from anchoring for TNT every other Friday, but outside of that, I also serve as a Red Cross Chapter Liaison and a Speech and Debate Captain (go hedgehogs!!). In my spare time, you can find me practicing my instrument in the band room, hanging out with friends, or playing guitar. I’ve been on the Class of 2027 Freshman and Sophomore councils, and I can honestly say that I’ve learned so much from interacting with all of you, and I am excited to see us grow as a school together!
What makes Cupertino High School unique?
By far, CHS’s greatest strength lies in the opportunities that it offers. Whether for hobbies, skills, identity, or anything in between, we have an organization that exists to further your growth in that area. Being the home of 83 clubs and hosting school wide events on a regular basis, there is no shortage of pathways for students to take. However, because of this crowd of pre-established organizations, it is becoming increasingly difficult for individual clubs to gain exposure, and for new groups to take flight. That is why my campaign for this year has an emphasis on accessibility; allowing students to take advantage of the options here at CHS and maximize their high-school experience.
How will ASB, under your leadership, move towards making Cupertino High School a better place?
My campaign focuses on 3 goals;
1. Diversifying clubs at Cupertino; With 80+ clubs, our campus is at capacity for how many clubs we can sustain. In addition to the current process, I will implement a merging system to combine small & similar clubs to open up more room.
2. Accessibility to school events; ticketed events like Winter Formal, are key to the high school experience but carry a hefty entry fee. I will work towards negotiating with venues and outside revenue sources to minimize the financial burden of these events.
3. Promoting school resources; our school offers a variety of systems, such as PTSA grants, TNT, etc, to help develop student groups. I will enhance awareness and usage of these resources to benefit the student body.
Why should you be the person to serve in your desired position?
As the documentarian of Cupertino, I will be able to use ASB resources and online communications to ensure everyone’s access to information concerning club applications and school resources, bringing our school together.
Over the past two years, I’ve had the honor of serving my class of 2027 as treasurer and VP, allowing me to understand both the financial and logistical aspects of managing the student body. Our Freshman year, I was able to expand our account by 3000$ to broaden class opportunities, and this year, I’m reviving the underclassmen dance, after two successful bondings.
The experience and skills I’ve accumulated over my time in student government make me the ideal candidate to utilize my tenure in ASB to achieve my goals.

What makes Cupertino High School unique?
Cupertino High School is a dynamic community that values collaboration, innovation, and spirit. It thrives on inclusivity, where diverse backgrounds foster open-mindedness. CHS students lead the way, driving school activities through ASB events, club initiatives, and athletics. The school excels due to student dedication to academics, extracurriculars, and service. With a balance of tradition and innovation, CHS honors its history while evolving through technology and student feedback. Above all, CHS is special because of its people—students, faculty, and staff who create a vibrant and supportive environment.
How will ASB, under your leadership, move towards making Cupertino High School a better place?
As ASB Secretary, my leadership will focus on transparency, student engagement, and inclusivity. I will implement "Student Voices" feedback forms to gather input after each ASB event, and create a digital ASB newsletter to recap events and promote upcoming activities. I will introduce an ASB Q&A Hotline for anonymous questions, with responses posted on Instagram to increase communication. To boost school spirit, I’ll launch a Class Leaderboard for participation in events, and a "Golden Ticket" system for discounted dance tickets. My goal is to ensure all students feel connected, heard, and empowered at CHS.
Why should you be the person to serve in your desired position?
I believe I am the best candidate for ASB Secretary due to my leadership experience, dedication, and involvement at CHS. As the 2026 Council Secretary, I’ve gained skills in managing meetings and communicating student concerns. My time in ASB Art has given me insight into event planning, while being Captain of the Varsity Golf Team strengthened my leadership abilities. I’ve also held leadership roles outside CHS, such as Secretary and Vice President of Silicon Valley Hwarang, where I coordinated community service and fundraising initiatives. I’m committed to making CHS more inclusive, transparent, and student-focused, ensuring every voice is heard.
